For most all my life I have had a newspaper in my hand in one way or another mostly in street sales and wholesale accounts, in Utah, California and Nevada. Bought and sold Real Estate. Owned a trout farm that got mixed up with Mt. Saint Helen’s. Helped my wife run an Office Coffee Service Business and a Housewares Rental Business. These things kept us so busy that a couple of years ago we decided that it was time to slow down so we went looking for something that we could own and have managed by someone else, then we could slow down and take out our Social Security and have some free time to come and go as we wanted to. So we bought a Motel in the high desert of California. It will have an Overnight RV Park and a gift shop with it. We will be close by and just watch over it.
I have been active in the LDS Church, holding many different jobs over the years. For the past few years my wife and I have been the Emergency Preparedness Specialists for our ward helping our ward members get ready for what ever may come our way in the future. Hope we all have a long and bright future. See everyone in Five years.

Myrna COLES Dittmore
195 Payne Avenue Brentwood, CA 94513
This is from Myrna Dittmore. I will not be attending the reunion, but
thought to give you some information since I seemingly disappeared after
graduation. My father was in the military and was sent to Anchorage, Alaska, where
the family soon joined him. The next duty was in Huntsville, Alabama, where
I met and married a young man from Orem, Utah. Since he was also
military, we were assigned to Kaiserslautern, Germany where our lst son was born.
After the service, we returned to Utah, where Maylin went to the University of
Utah. While he was earning his PhD in Electrical Engineering and I was earning my PhT, I worked at Sperry Utah and we lived in Salt Lake City. We had our 1st daughter and 2nd son before Maylin took a job at the Lawrence Laboratories in Livermore, California. We had another daughter and built a home on 10 acres in Brentwood, California (north of Livermore). We had one more son and all of that has grown into 9 grandchildren. I like to do cross-stitch and read. We like to take short trips and long ones - usually driving. We recently returned from Banff Canada where we stayed in the Banff Castle Resort. The forests are beautiful and the wild animals have free run.
In the past we have traveled around the states and also to Hungary, Germany and Austria. The address you used is our current address. Hope you all have a great reunion. Myrna Dittmore

James Eugene HOLLADAY Jr.

(601) 666 6315
Marital Status: Married (Linda)
5 children, 11 grandchildren
Current Occupation: Electronic Engineer – Lockheed Martin
Hobbies: Woodturning, woodcarving, woodworking, spoiling grandkids
Info: Following graduation from high school I enrolled at BYU and obtained work as an electrician on campus. After a brief interruption to serve a mission in Western States I returned and graduated with a degree in Electronic Engineering in 1962. Prior to graduation I met and married Linda Gale Davis from Boise ID. We graduated at the same time, Linda with a degree in English Literature along with a teaching certificate. Upon graduation I accepted a position with the Federal Aviation Agency in Los Angeles and was assigned to work throughout the Utah, Idaho and Nevada region. We bought a home in California in 1964. By this time we had been blessed with two sons, Garold and Johnathan.
While in Los Angeles I changed employment from the FAA to the Hughes Aircraft Company in order to work on a new satellite program they were developing. At Hughes I taught courses in satellite communications, theory and operation. It was great fun and satellite communications became the focus of my career. Although the work was great, the congestion and smog in the area were overbearing and I began looking for work elsewhere.
In 1966 I accepted a position with the Sperry Utah Company and was sent to Florida on and off for two years to work on the satellite launch facility at Cape Canaveral. While in Florida we had a house built in Hunter, Utah, now West Valley City, and we put down our roots, so we thought. Our family grew there, adding two more sons, Benjamin and Jamelyn, and a daughter, Lace. Linda and I became heavily involved in the scouting and primary programs with our kids. The work at Sperry, now Sperry Univac, was exciting, I developed a small product line and was sent around the country finding buyers for it. I was also able to finish a Masters degree in Electronic Engineering at the U of U, as well as do a little consulting on the side. We lived in Utah as the kids were growing up until 1977, when I received an offer from the General Electric Space Division near Valley Forge, PA.
We moved to Audubon, PA, across the river from the Valley Forge Historical Park, in October 1977. I began work at GE on their communications satellites and later on mapping satellites and ground stations. (Although the work remained the same, mergers changed our division name from GE to Martin Marietta in 1993 and then to Lockheed Martin in 1994). This move to Pennsylvania proved to be an exciting time for us, and we fell in love with the people, the rolling hills, lush forests and beautiful farms. Our home is in a semi-rural area, about a half-hour drive West of Philadelphia. Another forty-five minutes west of us are the Amish farms for which Pennsylvania is justly proud. A little farther west is Gettysburg National Park, and Linda has become a real history buff. Since my hobbies include wood-working, carving and turning, it is a great treat to live in an area with so many forests and sawmills nearby.
With the children raised Linda and I took the opportunity to travel to California for a temporary duty assignment in Sunnyvale, near San Jose. We will be here until January of 2000 when we will return to our home in PA.
As I noted in the picture our children are all grown, and are raising families of their own. Garold the oldest, served a mission to Paraguay, graduated from BYU with a BS in EE, from Villanova with a MS degree in EE, and is working at Lockheed Martin. He and his wife Donna Hunt, from PA, have four children. Donna joined the LDS church at BYU and served a mission to New Mexico prior to their wedding.
Jonathan served a mission to Arcadia, CA, graduated from BYU in Chemistry and went on for a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. He and his wife Stephanie Izutsu, from Seattle, have 3 children and live in West Virginia. Stephanie joined the LDS church at BYU and graduated with a degree in Microbiology.
Ben served a mission to Los Angeles, Spanish, graduated from BYU in EE, and is working for a computer network consulting firm nearby. He and his wife Wendy Wells, from Seattle, have three children.
Jamie served a mission to Mexico, graduated from BYU in Chemical Engineering, and is currently working on his Ph.D. also at BYU. Jamie and his wife Melanie Kunkel, from Piedmont, CA have one lovely daughter. Melanie served a mission to France and graduated from BYU with a Masters degree in Family Living.
Lace, our youngest, served a mission to Ecuador and is graduating in June from BYU with a degree in Elementary Education. Her husband Jeff Olsen, from Alaska, served a mission in Korea and graduated from BYU in Information Systems. They are also planning on settling in PA, he being employed by the Vanguard Company.

Marital status: Married (Gary)
2 children, 6 grandchildren
Current occupation: Retired teacher
Hobbies: Gardening, sewing, painting
Unusual trips: Alaska cruise and Panama Canal Cruise
Upon graduation from Tooele High School in 1954, I worked for civil service at Dugway, Utah until the end of that year. That Christmas I became engaged and was married to my husband, Gary, the following April of 1955. After a short honeymoon in SLC, we traveled to Kingsburg, CA, where we have made our home for forty-four years.
The following February, our son was born and two years later our daughter arrived. Our son has made a career in the military and is a Lt. Col. in the Air Force, presently stationed in Fairbanks, AL with his wife and three children. Our daughter was in the business industry for fifteen years and has chosen to change careers and is in the process of obtaining her teaching credential for early childhood education. She is living near us in Fresno, CA with her husband and three children.
In 1964, after being a wife, mother, and homemaker for ten years, I decided to return to school. When my children entered school, I was involved with the PTA and realized the value of education. I also had extra time on my hands, so I decided to go to college and obtain my teaching credential. In 1971, I graduated Magna Cum Laude, from Fresno State, with a major in Art and a minor in Home Economics. I taught ninth through twelfth grades, here in our community high school. I enjoyed my teaching years very much.
About the same time I started back to college, we bought a ranch along the Kings River and moved to the country. We grow peaches and nectarines on our ranch. Also, at the same time we have some property that borders the river that my husband’s family began developing into a camping and boating resort. We operated this family business for twenty-five years and we sold our business in 1990. We still live on our ranch and still grow fruit trees. My husband retired from construction in 1982 and is now a semi-retired farmer.
After teaching at KHS for twenty-eight years, I am enjoying my retirement days by spending time with my six grandchildren, crafting, painting, sewing, gardening, reading, and traveling with my husband.
Our family has been blessed with good health and prosperity over the years. I would say that I have had a very good life after graduating from Tooele High School.

Retired at age 60 in Salt Lake City in the health care field. At the same time I retired from the Navy after 38 years of service (I really wanted to retire after 40 yrs. of service—but I was too old). Been traveling a lot since retiring and having a wonderful time. This past October I sold my home in SLC, and after 56 yrs of living and growing up in Utah we moved to our retirement home in Mesa, AZ. Many of my classmates don’t know this but, my family was interred in Gila River after the start of WWII. We were released early from Camp II and headed for TOD park in September of ’43. On my return to Arizona I recently had the opportunity to take my daughters to visit Camp II and I found the site where my barracks stood. I didn’t know this but, the action Pat Morita and I are the same age and we were in the 2nd grade together. Isn’t it ironic that I am returning to Tooele Army Depot (TAD) formerly Tooele Ordnance Depot (TOD) for my 45th High School Reunion. I am looking forward to seeing my classmates again.

Marital Status: Single
Children: 2, Grandchildren: 2
Current Occupation: Design and Sales

Unusual vacations: Amsterdam – Athens, Mikonos, and Santorini, Greece – Hiked the Acropolis-fabulous trip.
I have lived in SLC, UT, Mercer Island, WA, and Bellevue, WA.
Will be retiring (or semi-retiring) to St. George, UT – Bloomington. Plan to go between there, Seattle, Orlando, FL, and Hawaii, where my family are residing. Since we last met, I am still working but left the big company and have been working out of my home. I am hoping to semi-retire and plan to move to Bloomington, near St. George, UT within a year or so.
I will still spend sometime in the Northwest because I have one son who is firmly rooted in business there and because it really is a wonderful area. My other son his wife and my two fabulous little granddaughters were transferred to Orlando, FL last year and they love it there (Disney World and all). This wasn’t as exciting for me as it was for them because I was attached like glue.
Having family in and near Tooele still, my roots will always be close. I find I get down frequently to help my Dad when he needs it.
Sometimes I find it hard to believe we have all come this many years, but it also seems we still have many more to go, hopefully, and with a few more adventures and challenges for our lifetime.
Waiting for the next reunion! Nice to see everyone!

Doris NISONGER Alsop

1462 Stern Dr. Taylorsville, UT 84123
801-266-3193, e-mail: hughalsop@JUNO.com
Marital Status: Married (Hugh)
Children: 3 living, 1 died at 7 years old of leukemia, Grandchildren: 5
Current Occupation: Retired and loving it!
Hobbies: Hugh and I still sing with the Oratorio Society of Utah and perform Messiah in the Tabernacle on Temple Square every year just before Christmas. Every your it is different and is always so inspiring and a real thrill. Don’t know how many more years we can do it, but hopefully another year or two. We both so enjoy it, I sing every chance I get, I love to sing.
Unusual vacations: We have had several wonderful trips. We went to Italy in 1982 to bring our oldest daughter back from a mission. We toured Italy and part of Switzerland. It was a wonderful trip.
In 1983 we went with Oratorio Society to Israel to perform Messiah. We had been invited over by the Israeli government to help celebrate their 35th year as a free state. We performed Messiah in Televiv and Jerusalem, plus several smaller concerts in other cities. In Jerusalem our performance of Messiah was picketed by the Ultra Conservative Jews who did not want us to perform a concert about a God whom they did not believe in a government owned building. They interrupted our performance several times with their outbursts. The patrons had paid $10.00 each to see us and they did not take kindly to the interruptions and they were physically thrown out, in fact it made the national news here in America. They only interrupted the soloists or the orchestral parts of the performance because they were from Israel and were Jewish. Our group had the very best tour guides and stayed in the nicest hotels. They toured us all over Israel, they took us to every place of interest. Besides the performances of Messiah, my favorite was the concert we did in the Garden of Gethsemane, it was so beautiful I could hardly sing, my heart was so full. It was the trip of a lifetime for me.
I have lived in Los Angeles, CA, Provo, UT, Denver, CO, Tooele, UT, and Taylorsville, UT.
My mother is still living, she is 86 years young and still going strong. She has led a very interesting and colorful life. At 79 she rode on the back of a motorcycle over 4000 miles up into Canada with my step sister and her family and slept on the ground. We have just sold her home in Tooele where she has lived for 53 years, she is moving into a new manufactured home in a senior trailer court, which is near us. She has always wanted a new home and now she will have the chance.

Info: Has it been five years already? I can swear the clocks are going faster – even though they still have 24 hrs in a day – they’re a much shorter 24 hrs. We’ll be 80 before we know it. I wonder if we should plan a 62nd reunion? I’m not so sure I want to make it to 80.
Eldon passed away about a week after our last reunion. He had battled kidney cancer for about 2 ½ years. They had given him a few months to live when it was discovered in May of 1992. They said it was untreatable and inoperable. We did a trip to Alaska, which he had always wanted to do. We started to investigate alternative medicine and learned a lot. We kept him alive for over 2 years and he was in reasonably good health for most of that time. He really went downhill fast after his mother’s death, a few months before his own. I think where he was the only son (5 sisters), that she and he were very connected spiritually.
Since that time, a lot has gone on for me. My 2nd daughter, Julie, had a new baby boy Sept. 22, 1994, just a couple of weeks after Eldon’s death. She had 2 children Cydney & Cameron ages 8 & 10, by her first marriage. The baby, Zachary, was her fiancée’s Billy (from Calif.). They were not married, but planned to after the baby was born. She collapsed with a blood clot on her brain when the baby was 4 days old. She never woke up, and died when the baby was 2 weeks old! It was a blow that about killed me. I had just buried Eldon! Since they weren’t married and she was divorced from the 1st husband, that left me as executor of what little she owned. Her small insurance was made out specifically to Cydney and Cameron (by name) and there was no money. With help from her work, my work and loving friends, I was able to get the funeral taken care of and most of her bills settled. I really struggled through all that. The first Dad showed up and took the 2 older children. Billy took the baby and went back to California to his mother. In less than a year the 2 older children cane to live with me. Their dad was into drinking and drugs and couldn’t take care of them. He never remarried. I had them for over 2 years. It was really difficult going back to elementary and Jr. High school days. But – you have to do what you have to. He remarried a woman who was about 36 and had never had children. She was and is very high-strung. They tried to work the kids into their family once or twice before it worked. It has been a read struggle for all of them, but I think they are finally becoming a family. Cydney & Cameron were very unhappy at first, but it’s been over a year now, and they are all doing much better. I hope so – I don’t think I’m up to it again. I get to see Zachary, the last baby, as often as I can get to California. They come up here maybe once a year. He is a beautiful child! Billy has remarried and divorced already. Zachary’s grandmother basically raises him. I wish he were closer. Cydney & Cameron hardly know him. He’ll be 5 this Sept. already! I hope to get down in May or June to spend time with him. I think by the time he’s 6, we can keep him for a week or two in the summers so he can get to know us better. He’s always accepted us, never acts afraid or shy. It’s almost like he "knows" us.
I’ve had some problems with two other children. It seems like I nearly always have someone living with me. I’ve raised one grandson since he was 9 when his parents divorced, and he just turned 21. Both parents are nearby, but he’s always preferred to live with us. He loved Eldon so much! It was very hard for him when Eldon died. He was just starting his senior year in high school, and he failed that year.
I have decided to retire this summer at 63. Then I’m planning to move south to Hurricane, UT. I’ve been going down with friends for several years now and I really do love it. I have many friends there and I think I’ll be OK. My place is too big for me and I feel it will be good for my family if I’m not so close by. They depend on me way too much – and maybe I’m being selfish, but I think it’s time for ME. I’m not getting any younger, and I’d like to have less stress in my life. It will probably be hard for a while, but I’m not that far away. A move after 37 years in the same house, and retirement after working 21 years!!! all at once?
I really miss Eldon. After that long, you’re just part of each other. I haven’t really been interested in finding someone else, but had a couple of dates about 2 years ago. I don’t think I was ready then and with all that was going on in my life, I didn’t need any more complications. Maybe when my life settles down, all that will change. I’d like to share fun times with someone, hopefully they would be healthy. I’m not ready for any more "taking care of" for a while.
I’m very lucky. I’m healthy and strong. I feel good. I’ve had my share of troubles, but I’ve always had my good health and I thank God all the time for it.
I don’t know what I’ll end up doing. For a while, I’d just like to catch up on all the things I’ve not been able to do. Always been too busy or too tired. If I want to, I could teach piano again. I did that for about 15 years while my kids were growing up. I could volunteer. I could work (but only part-time) doing word processing or other computer work. I’ve got a lot of background in that. I’d like to oil paint again. Used to do it all the time. Lots of beautiful scenery in southern Utah. Who knows? I’ll just take each day as it comes and be grateful for it.
Right now, going through 37 years of memories is hard. I plan to take just what I need and want. I can leave all of Eldon’s tools and stuff. My youngest daughter and her husband are going to buy my place. I won’t need a snow blower, woodworking tools, welders, saws, etc. It’s amazing how much of your heart is tied up in your home and family. Even though I’m very excited to make this move, it’s still a little painful.
I’m sure you didn’t expect to get a "book" – just had lots to say. I’ll keep in touch.
